Does Dino ever get a bath. Did you buy a backup Dino just in case. Did you know about the time that Liam’s Blue Bear’s arm fell off and so Mindy mailed blue bear back to Santa for repair and Santa “repaired” him and delivered him Christmas Eve good as “new”. Such clever parents.

I would have given anything to give up my Saturday to watch my granddaughter twirl across the stage and see the happiness and pride in her parents eyes. Anything. I just about died when I saw the snow today! Sorry baby cakes, we have to stay inside because we don’t have shoes that will keep the cold wetness away. Oh and we are staying in sweats until it reaches 65 degrees outside!

I have always thought you were a good mama. I am glad that you are starting to feel better about your role as a mama. It is a blessing from Father in Heaven that when we get out priorities right, all else falls into place or becomes less important. I am happy you are being kinder to yourself. I love you.

I loved reading this, Rebecca. Though my first child is only 6-months, this describes a lot of what I’ve felt since bringing him home from the hospital. My husband and I were married 9 years before our little guy game along, so I certainly had a lot of experience being in charge of my own schedule (whether it included full time work, or part-time work and school, or just being a housewife). It’s so easy to get caught up in “just let me finish this one thing”…. Like you, I’ve been trying to do it less and less, but like you, I go a little crazy when the kitchen, or the rest of our home, is totally cluttered (we have a 1-bedroom apartment–no where to get away from the clutter and it takes over quickly). I imagine it’s a balancing act between meeting my son’s needs and meeting some of my own as well. To some extent, happy momma = happy baby, but not necessarily. I always enjoy the honestly with which you write about the things going on in your life. And I particularly love how it lets me continue to see a little window into my dear childhood friend’s darling, grownup family. Wow, sorry, this is turning out to be a very long comment, but I know how nice it is to read comments from readers, especially when you put a good amount of effort into your posts, as you clearly do, so I wanted to write to say thanks for your post! I enjoyed it.
