Baby headstands

by Rebecca on June 24, 2012

I like kids well enough.  I like my own kids an awful lot.  And I like my nieces and nephews just as much.  And I like my friends’ kids.  But I’m not what you would call a “kid” person.  I’m not a baby grabber.  I like kids because they are people, and I like people.  And that’s that.

But there is something about 10-month-olds, isn’t there?  The more I look at my very own 10-month-old, the more I have decided that 10-month-olds are just delicious.  They should be grabbed, squeezed, kissed, and hugged.  Their little dimply knees, elbows, and wrists should be poked repeatedly. And their cheeks… oh, their soft, squishy cheeks — well, they must be pasted — simply pasted! — with kiss after kiss after kiss.

If there was a line where dimply 10-month-old babies were being handed out, I would get in line at least a dozen times.

And I’d bring home all those little 10-month-olds and watch them learn new things in their own unique way, adding their own silly twists to all the new things one can learn in this world.

Like crawling, for instance.  Crawling is all kinds of fun, but it’s much more fun when you do a semi-headstand and giggle uncontrollably.  I know because I see it happen all day long.

{I really wish I had used a real camera, and not my phone, for these pictures.  Hopefully my adorable, dimply 10-month-old won’t give up her favorite pose before I can get a good-quality picture.}

That is hilarious! I wish I was there to hear her giggle and grab, squeeze, kiss, and hug her!

Get her out here so I can grab and squeeze and kiss. She is so adorable.
