We had a circle party to celebrate her upcoming second birthday.
Why circles? It was one of the firsts of her many words and obsessions.
Since then, she has graduated to more sophisticated shapes- like triangles and ovals.
Her obsessions have also become more…um…refined. Doors, for example, occupy her waking moments. Slamming them, opening them, locking the cat behind them…
Or her obsession with high heels, which has grown in talent. She used to need Mommy’s and Daddy’s help to even wear them. Now, you can see her running, hopping and climbing stairs in stilettos. Frightening, indeed.
Her obsession with music 24/7 is entertaining as she has recently adopted a liberal adherence to lyrics. She can frequently be found interchanging the words of songs. A song may start out in typical manner, “Twinkle twinkle little star…” and quickly change direction: “now I know my ABCs…Happy Birthday to YOU.”
While I am devastatingly sad to watch her grow up, I am so eager to see what else she has to offer.
And I am certain she will keep the spunk and personality she showed to us in her first year.
Yep, she’s still got it!
I love every ounce of that spunk, I do!
