My husband started a paper route last week. Irregular sleep hours are causing some funny morning side effects.
Today, when his alarm sounded at 2:00 am, he fumbled while trying to shut it off. After finally finding the correct button, he held the alarm in his hands and stared.
What do I do?
he asked with a lonely, lost boy tone.
Even in my half awake state, I fully understood his confusion. I knew he was just trying to wake up and understand his surroundings. But even so, in my fumbled state of being, I could not put the thought, “Remember, you have a paper route?” into audible words.
All that I managed to say was,
Go.
Poor guy.

aw suck. i didn’t know he is doign a paper route. poor guy.
My sympathies to your hubby, you and your family. I have done those paper routes. 7 days a week for 3 different newspapers through the holidays in the bad weather.
Paul did a paper route for 10 whole months, and it sucked! Okay, it more than sucked, especially in the snow!! Sundays were the worst, and seriously sooo hard!
Poor Ryan… My parents started a paper route when 3 of us were all on a mission (at the same time) and I helped them with it when I returned. NOT. FUN. AT. ALL! You are up before some people go to bed, trudging through the snow at times, being chased by dogs, tripping over split sidewalks – basically trying to function in the dark, within an allotted time frame, and all on only a few hours of sleep.
Ryan, bless your heart! And I would dare guess he does all of this without any complaint!
awwww! i did that once and it was SOOO hard!
Aww Becca I did a paper route for YEARS
tell Ryan I am sorry, it is really not fun
