Otherwise I have loved all your other choices that I have read and look forward to reading those I haven't read. I would add Barbara Kingsolvers, "Poisonwood Bible" and Karen Hesse's "Out of the Dust". Don't forget Dicken's "A Tale of Two Cities" or just about anything from Alexandre Dumas.
